You’d be amazed at how easy a war is when you have won the hearts of the people.
They give away information about your enemy-they stop giving their support to him and they may even join your side to help defeat him.
War is not about the eradication of your enemy, it is about his swift defeat-and that defeat in this case is not possible with overwhelming power, but with the winning of the people’s hearts.
When your enemy draws his numbers from the masses, wiping him off the face of the earth is only possible if you annihilate the masses too-which makes it not only morally wrong but a strategic and logistical nightmare.
If we continue the way Obama wants to we won’t win.
A new strategy (assuming winning was the actual goal in the first place) should focus purely on defense and winning over the people.
