      As I recall, the tanks get about 5 gallons to the mile. The Gas turbine engine on the M1 is a bit of a fuel guzzler.

      Considering the Iraqi t-72 tanks get 0 miles to the gallon, yes, our tanks do consume fuel. But the Iraqi takns don’t move, they are piles of scrap metal !

      My rough guess would be depending on which tank weight and 01mpg some have turbos and fuel diesel or gasoline anything between 1mpg and fuel diesel or gasoline anything between 1mpg.

      Also factor in that it takes almost 20 gallons just to start the turbine engine.
